Why doesn't Google Automated discount work on the frontend?

Why doesn't Google Automated discount work on the frontend?

If the extension doesn't work as expected (discounts is not applied or discount value is incorrect), we'd recommend checking the configurations following the instructions below.

      1. Assign Product Attributes

Ensure that the cost_of_goods_sold and auto_pricing_min_price attributes are assigned to the products.

We recommend including these attributes in the attribute set, which facilitates adding them to multiple products seamlessly. You can do this by navigating to Stores > Attributes > Attribute Set:

Stores > Attributes > Attribute Set

      2. Verify Product Feed for Google Merchant

Confirm that the cost_of_goods_sold and auto_pricing_min_price attributes are included in the product feed that is uploaded to Google Merchant. These attributes are essential for the discount calculations.

      3. Check Product Type

Ensure that the product type is set to simple. The extension logic only supports automated discounts for simple products, meaning discounts will not apply to configurable items and other product types.

      4. Review Tax Configuration

In case the discount value is incorrect, it is recommended to navigate to Stores > Configuration > Sales > Tax > Price Display Settings and check how product prices are shown on the storefront.

If the issues with Google Automated Discounts persist after all the checks and adjustments, please contact our support team.
