What is the difference between Search Recommendations and Search Suggestions in the Search configuration?

What is the difference between Search Recommendations and Search Suggestions in the Search configuration?

Magento 2 Search Recommendations and Search Suggestions are designed to persuade users to make a buying decision. Both settings could be found by navigating to Stores > Configuration > Catalog > Catalog Search. In turn, each of the settings serves different functions:

1) Enable Search Suggestions setting determines if search suggestions appear for common misspellings. When enabled, related words are offered for any request that returns no results.



2) Enable Search Recommendations setting determines if search recommendations are offered when a search returns no results.




When both settings enabled in the Admin Panel, the search results would be as follows:
