How to add brands to your e-store?
There are 3 crucial steps to be followed for adding the brand to the e-store:
Step 1. A new attribute should be created in Product → Attributes.
Step 2. The attribute should be added to the products.
Step 3. It is necessary to set the created attribute as the brand attribute in the module configuration.
Step 1 and Step 2 use the basic Magento mechanics, properly described in the official Magento documentation:
Step 3 involves the configuration of the module, therefore it requires a more detailed explanation. To activate the Brand Management feature as well as other module functionality, proceed to Stores → Configuration → Amasty Extensions → Improved Layered Navigation: Brands and open the General tab. Pick the created attribute in the Brand Attribute dropdown and save the configuration.
Sometimes the attribute is not available in the Brand Attribute dropdown. This can happen if the attribute is not used in the layered navigation. To make the attribute visible to the extension, proceed to Stores → Attributes → Product and pick the created attribute, open the Storefront Properties tab and set Use in Layered Navigation either to Filterable (no results) or to Filterable (with results). Then save the attribute.
After the attribute is added to the Brand Attribute dropdown, it's possible to use and configure the functionality of the Brands feature and create Brand-devoted pages. Please also refer to the step-by-step video tutorial below to find more details:
