How to receive search results for queries including spaces?
To receive search results when your query includes one or more spaces, please, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Stores > Configuration > Amasty Extensions > Elastic Search > Catalog tab. Then, specify the Match Mode = OR for the relevant attribute(s) that you'd like to use for search, and enable the Wildcard option to ensure that search results will include any terms separated by spaces:
Please note that this configuration will only help receive search results for the query containing one space. For example, with such setup, a product with "SKU AB123" will be shown in search results if a "AB 123" search query is used on the frontend.
- Alternatively, if you wish to configure search results for queries with more spaces, you can list several-space queries as synonyms for more advanced search capabilities. Their settings can be found under the following path: System > Amasty ElasticSearch > Manage Synonyms. Here, the interchangeable values should be specified using commas in the following format: "original word, synonym, synonym".
By following these instructions, you can customize your search settings to accommodate queries with spaces and enhance the search experience for your users.
