Omnibus Insight calculates the lowest price based on the actual selling prices recorded during the period set in the app. Discounted prices can be included in the calculation, so a discounted selling price can become the lowest price. Compare-at prices are not included.
For example, if a product normally costs $50 but is sold for $40 with an automatic discount during the selected period, Omnibus Insight records $40 as the lowest price. If the Compare-at price is $45, it does not affect the calculation.
What affects the lowest price calculation?
The calculation also depends on your settings in Omnibus Insight Admin > Settings.
- Here, you can define the period used to calculate the lowest price. For example, if you set the duration to 30 days, Omnibus Insight checks the product's selling prices recorded during the previous 30 days.
- If Include Shopify discounts is enabled, both automatic discounts and coupon codes created through Shopify discounts are taken into account when calculating the lowest price. Important: Discounts are considered only when they use the Amount off products rule and the rule is active.
Note: The app doesn’t support discounts created by third-party apps.
- If Include drafts and archived products is disabled, prices recorded while a product was in draft or archived status are excluded. For example, if a product was priced at $3, archived, then reduced to $1 while archived and later published at $4, the lowest price remains $3.
- For products with different prices across Shopify Markets or B2B catalogs, Omnibus Insight can calculate the lowest price separately for each market or catalog. For example, if the lowest price is €45 in Germany and €50 in France, each market displays its respective lowest price.
- For new products, if Show for new products is enabled, the current price is shown as the lowest price until enough historical pricing data becomes available.
- You can also choose to display the lowest price only for currently discounted products by enabling Show only for discounted products. This setting affects when the lowest price is displayed, not how it is calculated.
Note: If you permanently increase a product’s price, the previous lower price may still be shown as the lowest price because it remains within the selected tracking period. For example, if the price increases from $20 to $30 and then to $35 - $20 may still be shown as the lowest price.
