How can I upload images using a CSV file in the PicManager app?

If you have your image URLs collected in Google Sheets, you can easily upload them directly to your Shopify store with PicManager via CSV file. For it, use the Upload from CSV option on the Upload media page:

1. In Shopify Admin, go to Apps > PicManager > Upload media.
2. Click Select files and choose Upload via CSV. Here you can download a CSV sample file with the required column headers and structure.



3. Open the sample file and fill in the required fields for each product and product variant:

- Product Identifier: Based on the matching criteria you set in PicManager’s Settings, enter either the SKU, Title, Barcode or URL handle of the product (you can use either the parent product or a variant).

- Image Source: Provide one of the following:
  1. A direct image URL if the image is hosted externally. The URL must point directly to the image file, not to a folder or a cloud storage page such as Google Drive or Dropbox. A direct image URL usually ends with an image extension such as .jpg, .png, or .webp and opens the image directly in your browser.



  2. The filename of an image already uploaded to Shopify’s Files section:





4. If a product has more than one image, list all image URLs or filenames in the same cell, separated by commas:

Note: PicManager supports the following files: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .webp, .svg, .heic. Total upload size is limited by your pricing plan. Check Pricing for more information.

5. Save your completed CSV file.
6. Return to PicManager on the Upload media page.
7. Click Select Files > Upload via CSV, and upload your file.

Note: CSV image upload is available only when Matching mode is set to Customizable matching. You can find this setting under Apps > PicManager > Settings.

8. Click Start uploading.
9. Select uploading strategy: 
  1. Add to existing gallery - keeps the existing product images and adds the new images.
  2. Replace the existing product images - replaces the existing product images with the uploaded images.
10. Review the matched and unmatched images. You can remove an incorrect match by clicking the X icon. Unmatched images are highlighted in the corresponded tab, where you can manually assign them to products.
11. Finish the upload once you have verified the matches.

PicManager supports multiple comma-separated image URLs in a single CSV cell for each product. In the CSV, use one column for the product identifier (title, SKU, barcode, or URL handle) and the next column for the image URLs associated with that product, separated by commas. Here’s the example:

PicManager lets you upload additional product images from a CSV with one of two uploading strategies: Add to existing gallery keeps existing images and adds new ones; Replace the existing product images overwrites them. In Shopify, open PicManager > Upload Media > Select Files > Upload via CSV, select your CSV file, choose Add to existing gallery, validate the image matches, and finalize the import.
