- The idea
Currently when you want to do a price-off for a product as a promotion, you need to enter a promotion per product (or at least per price point). This is a lot of work if you have hundreds of products all with their own price points during the promotion. I would like to propose a promotion type based on a pricebook which is simply a list of sku numbers and their price during the promotion.
- How it works
Add a catalog price rule, fill all fields you want to use (call-out texts, labels to put on the product, etc), and instead of selecting which products are included and what the price-off mechanism is within the promo screen, you would select the "from pricebook" option. That in turn allows you to either upload or enter a list of sku's with their individual prices during the promotion. Like
sku | price
12 | 99.99
15 | 29.00
28 | 24.50
etc...
- Expected behavior
This single promotion applies the discounts to all products in the pricebook for the specified audience, can be scheduled and previewed through content scheduling, can be easility edited at a later moment and can be re-used for future promotions. This way you can also schedule multiple subsequent different price-offs on a single product, instead of only 1 through the special price functionality.
- Examples of implementation (if any)
You can contact me for systems that work like this.
- Business value
Saves a lot of time when you have many different individual temporary price-offs.
