Import Product doesnt skip unknown sku's, messes up pricing updates

Hi everyone,

is anyone having a problem with Import/Export M2? specifically the Import Product function??

I need to do a bulk pricing update to around 1000 products so I have built my sample file to use SKU as the product identifier and in the attributes I have set price and cost, then in the customer group price section I have added all relevant fields so that I can update a tier price (all available fields except value_id and entity_id as I do not wish to use these as identifiers)

I have it setup to "Update Only", and "Skip Error Entries" with allowed errors of 10

If I test an import using a single row then it works perfectly so I'm confident my file is configured correctly and my profile is setup correctly.

If I test an import with for instance 5 rows and I know that all rows contain products that are in my website then it works

However, if my supplier has given me a full price file including skus that I am not selling, and these are in the rows, then i get an Undefined Index error at step 2 during the import and it does not complete, but if I then go and check the products that were in the file I find that they all have been updated but with the wrong price - it appears that instead of skipping the row with a sku it doesnt recognise (which is what it is supposed to do when set to "Update Only", it ignores the SKU, moves to the next row, finds a SKU that is in my website and updates it with the pricing from the row above (where the SKU was unknown)

I do not expect to have to clean my price list every time I wish to do an update by manually removing every row that does not apply, nor do I expect to have to export my catalogue and manually update every row with pricing before importing it back into the system - I might as well just update each product individually in Grid View

hope that all makes sense and someone has any ideas on working round or with this pretty fundamental flaw!!
