Guide for Mass Product Actions for Magento 2//Product Linking Algorithms
We are a startup e-commerce company, and we use Magento 2 with extension Mass Production Actions from amasty.
First of all I must confess that extension is really handy and flexible. So thank you. But I have couple question about it.
I read the guide. Currently we are working on up-sell, cross-sell and related product.
In the guide there is a part that says;
"The Relate, Up-sell, and Cross-sell options allow you to choose linking algorithms for these actions. There are three possible algorithms:
Default. Relations between products will be built by the standard Magento functionality (that is when you have to manually indicate related, up-sell and cross-sell items for each product).
2 Way. For example, you have ‘product 1’, ‘product 2’ and ‘product 3’. If you add ‘product 2’ and ‘product 3’ as upsells (or related/cross-sells) for ‘product 1’, only ‘product 1’ will become an up-sell (or related/cross-sell) for ‘product 2’ and ‘product 3’. ‘product 3’ will not become an up-sell (or related/cross-sell) for ‘product 2’ and ‘product 2’ will not become an up-sell (or related/cross-sell) for ‘product 3’.
Multi Way. Let’s say you have soap, shampoo, and toothpaste. If you add shampoo and toothpaste as related (or up-sells/cross-sells) to soap, all these products will become related to each other – soap and shampoo will become related (or up-sells/cross-sells) to toothpaste; toothpaste and soap will become related (or up-sells/cross-sells) to shampoo."
We are trying to choose the best options for us. Settings are default by choice. As you can see in the attachment.
I have question;
For example, I create a campaign and make some related products, up-sell & cross-sell etc. then some time later (let's say 1 week or 1 month) I change the setting default->multi-way or default->2-way. Since the algorithm has been changed; Will it effect my past products like over-writing on them? or it won't change and function differently the date I change the settings?
Also if it possible I would like know that; if you can tell what is the best option for us? We have quite a variety of products and multiple marketplaces. Cosmetic, outdoor equip., shoes, bags etc. I think we can't change the algorithm just for some categories or attribute sets.
