The Idea: I think this an essential addition to Amasty's Amp extension that it takes advantage of google page speed optimizer extensions image optimization, or, it has it's own optimization method for images. The Amp extension is great but it is just a shame that the main let down on the AMP store front eventually drills down to the images which are not optimised like the desktop version of a Magento store with Google Page Speed Optimizer installed.

Expected Behaviour: Amasty Amp pages use next generation formats such as webp, and images sized and served at a suitable size

Business Value: Significant improvements to Amp page performance and better SEO with faster page load speeds.
